I have had some criticism that I haven't given enough notice on the things I list, so this week, I am going to tell you about some events this week and a few for next week, so peeps can plan ahead. Let's get cracking....
Movies: This week is all about Finish Line Films at Remington Park. They are showing movies at 8:30 on Thursday and Saturday nights in the Plaza area. The movies are free and range in genre and ear. You are welcome to bring your lawnchairs and blankets and just hang out at the movie. The movies will continue until mid-August when the horseracing begins again. Their restaurant and their casino are still open and in combination with the movie could make for a cool date night.
Witches: One of my favorite movies is the Wizard of Oz and they are performing it at the Mitch Park Ampitheatre in Edmond. It is located at 1501 W. Corell. The last show will be June 23. Tickets range from $6-12 and can be ordered from http://www.upstagetheatreok.com/.
Mudd: 2011 Mudd volleyball tourney to benefit the MDA is this Saturday and Sunday, June 23 & 24 in Mustang, OK. 12 people teams with 8 people on the court at a time and 1 refree. Your last chance to sign up is July 21st ( Thursday). Entry fee is $275 but with 12 to a team. It's really not that bad. This is serious adult fun. No children allowed. Takes place at the Silver Stallion Club at 1433 E. State Hwy 152. Kevin, can you imagine, you get 12 of your teammates together and form a team. You would dominate and raise money for a good cause. Spectators are required to donate $5 to the cause. You could rake in the money for MDA, plus it would be funny to see the other team's faces when you walk up. Priceless!!
Now for next week...A great girl band the Janedear Girls will be performing at the Diamond Ballroom on July 29th with special guest Aaron Vaughn and Samantha Rose. The Diamond is located at 8001 S. Eastern Ave. Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets are $5 in advance/ $10 dos.
Bricktown Challenge Scavenger Hunt starts on Monday of next week. You can sign up at www.Wimgo.com/bricktown. You will receive a clue via text and will text your answers back. August 1 the winners will be announced and you can win some really great prizes, including an xBox 360, tickets to see Taylor Swift, and a VIP night out in Bricktown. I'm already signed up and am sooooo pumped.
